Therapy dogs work their “magic” by providing unconditional acceptance to people. They do not care how much one has in the bank, how big, or small a house one lives, or if one is homeless, they are just there, with the people, without judgement. I’m a psychotherapist, and believe that the idea that a therapist’s best value is in his/her connection with a client, rather than in whatever her/his clinical background; is similar to the dog’s acceptance.
Hi Mitch. I totally agree with you. My best therapists have had the unconditional acceptance you speak of, and my best friends love unconditionally, like our canine friends. The world can be a better place if more people could do the same. Your clients are fortunate to have you!
Hi Martha,
I am so happy to read your blog…Henry looks absolutely adorable in this pic. I miss you both terribly. Thank you for sharing this site with me.
