After Strut - big smile

We did it! On Saturday, October 20, Goldie, Don and I  completed the Strut Your Mutt walk in Exposition Park in Los Angeles. It was pretty warm, so it felt more like Stroll Your Mole, but it was fun and sooo rewarding. Our team, Adopt Me Rescue, raised $14,101! I want to thank all of my super generous friends and family members for their contributions. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Adopt Me Rescue is the organization who saved Goldie in April of 2017. She was a stray who had been taken to a shelter, but was quite ill and needed a big surgery so she wasn’t a good candidate for adoption. But ADR came to the rescue! They paid for her medical care and took her into foster care. I learned about ADR when I saw Goldie’s photo online through Pet Finders. Shortly after sending an email inquiry, I got a response from her foster mom. who offered to bring Goldie to me for a visit. I fell in love with her the minute I took her in my arms. I adopted her that day, which happened to be the day after my birthday. She was the best present ever! I will be forever grateful to the big-hearted woman who started this organization, Laura Dash.

Adopt Me Rescue is a foster-based organization dedicated to rescuing sick, senior, injured, forgotten and overlooked dogs who are scheduled for euthanasia in shelters. They are a 501(c)3 non-profit, run completely by volunteers. In order to continue helping dogs in need they do a lot of fundraising. I have the privilege of writing their newsletter and raising money by participating in events like Strut Your Mutt. Thank you again to everyone who contributed to our Strut Your Mutt endeavor.

  1. You look so FANTASTIC, Martha and I love that little doggie. Ann PS: I’m currently doing a 24/7 with my friend, Ro. She’s in very bad shape from a fall and hospital stay. Luckily for both of us she lives right across the hall from me so it’s easy to keep an eye on her and do all the things that go along with whatever she needs. Take good care of yourself and all the four-footed friends who are blessed to be in your circle. Ann 213.999.1456

    • Hi Ann! It’s always great to hear from you. I hope you get to meet Goldie. She’s a gem.
Sorry to hear Ro is not well. She’s lucky to have a friend like you. I hope you are feeling well. I’d love to get together when the time is right. My cell is 323-369-6223. Lots of love and hugs to you!
